Lily bedell face masks

After being sent home from school due to COVID-19, I was finishing my online semester and mourning the loss of my grandpa from COVID-19.

Unable to keep still, I decided to make and sell sustainable masks, taking a dollar from every mask sale and donating it to No Kid Hungry: an organization working to end child hunger. In the end, I sold over 2,000 masks, generated over $16,000, and donated over $2,000 to No Kid Hungry.

This business truly gave me a glimpse into what it is like to give back to the community while making lasting positive impacts.

I was also able to take away valuable skills such as inventory management, customer service, Microsoft excel, production time, shipping, finance, marketing, sustainability, what it feels like to be an entrepreneur, the importance of giving back, and how to turn the mindset of uncertainty into a mindset of positivity.
